My Therapy Modalities
Individual Therapy Services
-
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
I have extensive training in CBT modalities as well as trauma-focused CBT. I utilize these evidenced-based approaches to help relieve symptoms of anxiety, depression, interpersonal conflicts, trauma related disorders, among other presenting issues.
-
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)
I have received training in order to provide basic EMDR for the treatment of trauma. EMDR has been am emerging treatment modality for trauma disorders, and I believe there is great use for it when it comes to traumas that are harder to "talk" our way through. Not everyone is a good fit for EMDR, but I can support in assessing clients for this treatment modality.
-
Solution-Focused Brief Treatment
I have experience working with folks in time-limited situations. I utilize a solution-focused approach in order to address the problem at hand and work towards a resolution collaboratively. I approach the work from a humanistic perspective, but I also know it can be a struggle to find the time for therapy, so I am mindful about approaching the work with an eye towards relieving the symptoms presented in an efficient and effective way.
-
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
I believe the mindfulness components and values-based living concepts within ACT are so widely applicable to supporting folks with various struggles. Whether you are trying to overcome a specific phobia, manage your general anxiety, break free from cycles of depression, or just generally want to improve your overall quality of life, ACT contains valuable principles to support. I incorporate aspects of ACT in my work, and introduce concepts of mindfulness in an approachable way.
-
Narrative Therapy
I incorporate many aspects of narrative therapy in my work, especially in my work with adolescents/teens. I utilize these approaches most commonly for those struggling with anxiety and depression, and have also utilized these approaches in trauma work.
-
Humanistic
Regardless of the different theoretical orientations we incorporate into our work, I will always take a person-centered and humanistic approach. Our sessions should feel safe, and you will experience authenticity and empathic understanding from my approach. I believe in your capacity for growth and change, and we will partner together to achieve your goals.
